Nothing Bring Me Here (2025)
Nothing Bring Me Here is a 12-hour endurance performance in which I remained in a boat on a river from morning to night, alternating between rowing, drifting, and meditation. A rope tethered the boat to a tree, pulling me back when I attempted to travel beyond its reach, creating a physical boundary for my movement. This performance channels the layered histories of Black migration across bodies of water, both voluntary and forced, while situating my own experience within that continuum. Through repetition, restraint, and reflection, Nothing Bring Me Here seeks to elicit intersections of identity, labor, ritual, and spirituality.
